Definitely not a democracy.

It seems necessary to have some kind of constitution in order to give people rights and prevent a spontaneous vote on something clearly unjust. I'm leaning towards a constitutional republic...

🌅Chadley, rights do not come from the Constitution or the Government. The government is supposed to be afraid and beholding to us, not the other way around.

🎺CommanderB..., A democracy without a constitution is a bad idea. For example, say you own land. A collection of people around you think they should distribute your land among themselves. Everybody holds a vote, and there votes are more numerous than yours. Therefore, your land will be distributed. A constitution of some sort will have guaranteed your right to the land.

🌅Chadley, of course.

It's difficult to say what western societies are, our economical system has several influence on political, also, vote for a representative every few years is a very different democracy from the original idea

An interesting twist in plag: do to nearly instant nature of feedback, we may be able to set up unheard of representation.
