Topic: Abby & Brittany Henzel (Conjoined Twins) 🙆🙋
Brittany and Abby were only expected to live a day after they were born. The Doctors offered the very risky option of surgery to divide them but their parents turned down the option and the twins defied their life expectancy.
"Abby (the right twin) controls the right arm and leg but can’t feel anything on her left side while Brittany (the left twin) is in charge of the left arm and leg and can’t feel anything on her right side."
Interesting Fact: "They have separate immune systems. That means that when one twin is sick the other won’t necessarily be infected also. In fact, Brittany has had pneumonia twice in her lift while Abby has never contracted it."
"Abby prefers pink and bright colors while Brittany is more of a tomboy. The twins also show their individuality by sporting different haircuts, hair colors, shoes and leggings. Additionally, they have clothing that’s specially made with different necklines and hems depending on their individual tastes" 👕 👗
Twin sense: "They have an acute ability to understand and anticipate what the other is thinking or feeling with little or no verbal communication. This ability that common among conjoined twins comes in handy for tasks like using a computer."
Driving: "Abby and Brittany each actually had to take their own written driving exam in addition to passing the practical portion of the test. In order to operate a vehicle, they jointly control the steering wheel while Abby controls everything on the right side of the driver’s seat and Brittany manages the left." 🚗 🚚
School: "When the twins headed to Bethel University they originally wanted to pursue their own separate majors, but the double coursework eventually became too much and they agreed to pursue an education major."
The twins have since gotten work as teachers for an elementary school class and its apparentln great for them for pay they get one salary butbecause they can't I guess go work in seperate locations and such.
The twins turned 28 in 2018. "More than 45% of conjoined twins are either stillborn or don’t make it past the first 24 hours after birth."
I think they are both incredibly impressive, they've worked hard to get what they've earned now.
