Topic: Thanksgiving 🍗🍛🍞
On Thursday (Nov 22nd) I took a train from Toronto to Kingston and Matt met me there as I got off the train with a big hug.
We went from there to his Grandparents house with his Dad. His family was great, and very loud 😂, excitedly preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner.
We hung out and I got to meet some of his family I hadn't before, a few cousins, uncle and aunt. For Dinner we had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, ambrosia, all the Thanksgiving stuff. It was great and we slept over and left in the afternoon on Friday for Matt's house.
They made Matt cookie cake for his Birthday on Friday (Nov 23rd). Woo! We're the same age again (I'm 6 months older and we get jokes about me being a cougar). If you have Birthday wishes let me know in the comments and I'll pass them on, or message him (General Matt) on Sola.
Saturday (Nov 24th) We had dinner out in Destiny USA (A huge mall), at Texas de Brazil, a Brazilian steakhouse with Texas atmosphere. The all you can eat food with a variety of skewered meats was delicious.
We saw Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindewal before dinner, it was actually really good. Too bad our seats were 3rd row in, it was definitely too loud.
On Sunday (Nov 25th) We stayed home and played video games (Witcher 3) which was awesome, I love killing monsters, and RISK the boardgame (though we didn't finish).
Kind of an awkward photo but anyways, on Monday (Nov 26th) we got up and ready together then Ubered back to the mall, we had subway sandwiches for breakfast, then soft pretzel bites and cheese, then lunch at Johnny Rockets a diner there.
Milkshakes and Chili cheese fries. Yum. After that we took off for the Train Station and waited for it to arrive. Leaving is always the hardest part but we're getting more used to it and he'll be back in a couple weeks this time.
I met this cute baby on the train who kept playing with her reflection in the window and turning to me to blow kisses and scrunch up her face, or stick out her tongue or wave.
Eventually I made it home after like 7 hours, and standing in the rain only for my uber to cancel after 8 minutes.
$38 cab fare later and I'm home in res.
How was your Thanksgiving Americans?
