nachdenken!, Well, I see that Anastasia is now actively addressing and informing new users what is and is not actually legal here on Sola. That's great news to have someone of actual Authority setting the standard and expectations here for Sola in lieu of someone trolling and spreading misinformation to the new users.
Let's hope she stays active in this regard.
The Golden Lemon is actually a marvelous, well thought out, non-abrasive idea that serves a purpose without naming users directly on the card, goes after mostly content that actually warrents highlighting, you don't go on the other users cards and leave snobbish, unwarranted comments and most the cards linked deserve the lemon.
I'm pretty sure my ideas for confronting the spamming problem as a user here would pretty much parallel much of your ideas, with continued full on reporting of True offenders, putting one word commenters on blast and deleting.
Continuing to greet, inform, guide and welcome new Sola users in a positive direction when possible, without using our
own personal opinions as to what is legal to post as a card. Maybe spreading the link to Anastasia's new card could help as it's pretty cut and dry the rules and expectations there?
Obvious Sol Scammers, not Sol hunters surely need to be addressed, like vote4vote and beggers. This has to be done with an open mind as Sola has now changed to a cryptocurrency application and people coming here legally to farm sol through proper use of the app and content and we're going to have to get used to them living amongst us here. Language barriers and cultural differences are another hurdle.
First and foremost, I believe that setting the example of content and expectations through our own posting actions here on Sola and burying new users with quality contents of your choice can speak volumes but we're never going to have a perfect sola in anyone's mind and I believe that was the idea with the swiping idea in the first place. You and I might really loathe certain content, but if it's legal, there might be 1000 people who enjoy it and that should be okay. We can't control everyone's taste or motives here and as long as they are legal we should just swipe and go on our merry way.
Users are going to post simple valid cards
here of spectacular pictures and such taken from the internet trying to garner Sol and unless the developers evolve a program like Stemmits where 100% original content is required and expected, it will continue to be the norm here, again swipe down. Remember when the Stemmits set up camp here demanding 100%? Didn't go over so good, did it? with true Senior users here basically ridiculing them from the app. At some point, Sola developers might be forced to address the Sol versus copyright issue, I don't know but until then it's going to look like all guns blazing with users abiding by the rules posting cards simply to Garner Sol and we can only guide, swipe and lead by example without condemnation.
In the past these waves of spammers have come and gone... hopefully we just need to hang on till the dust settles and we have our own little quiet Haven back on the internet... Heres to hoping.
Thanks for asking. :)
