This is “Galán de la Noche” or “Huele de Noche” or “Dama de la Noche” or “Jasmín de la Noche”
It means Beau Of The Night or, Smells At Night, or Dame of the Night, or Nocturnal Jasmine.
Not only it’s a beautiful flower in it’s own right, but it is also very, very, very special:
It blooms *only* at night, for *one* night a year (it will die tomorrow at dawn) and it has a glorious strong jasmine smell.
Also, It has a long hollow stem that grows out of the edge of of one of its leaves, *not* the stem.
And I brought one in from our plant outside to fragrance the house, and... Because It’s been a sad day in this country and this seemed like a sign of hope.
