A dreamy young pine blending in.

Here's how I create this effect from photography.

First I take 3 exposures of my subject, good, over and under exposed. It means lugging my lightweight tripod around with me.

I then use software called enfuse to combine the 3 exposures for the best well exposed photo.

A very high quality photograph.

Having the high quality image, I can then apply the anisotropic smoothing filters. The resulting clean, pure colour is very attractive.

After all there are no straight lines in nature.

Great image. Looks like a painting and a photo at once

Cool trick, I new the exposure fusion, but anisotropic filtering is clever :)

yes and its something that can't really be embedded in a phone app, hmm ... with these newer cpu;s and available ram, maybe it could!
Denor
Owzle, You could probably do it with the GPU since it is image processing.

I'm simply using the g'mic addon to Gimp, Looks like there have been attempts to recompile g'mic for Android. I'd say with phones now with octa core cpu's, more memory and storage than this notebook, its only a matter of time.
