One thing after another. Winter is the time to really catch up on the garden here in the Ozarks, since it is not hidden deep beneath the snow like it would be in some places. Today I was out in a t-shirt attempting to continue to maintain what I've got. Then, I decided to add some mulch to the area in front of our poultry pens. Eventually we will be adding in a lot of fruit trees and other beneficial plants, but for now a main goal is just to remove and suppress the "no-so beneficial" plants. After my boy took them down to the ground, I smothered them in mulch.
For some time now I've had a tiny St. John's Wort plant that I started from seed. I wanted to give it a good home, but I broke my hoe the other day. After picking up a new one in town when I got the mulch, I was ready to add one more raised bed to the property. Thankfully, I've got a good team of helpers, especially with as much work as some of these things can be. Hopefully, some of these tasks will leave behind results that we can enjoy for the rest of our lives. We will see. Enjoy the video!
