YouTube's New Stance On Comments Is Angering Creators

Creators on YouTube are in outrage at the recent changes YouTube has made to take a more strict stance on comment sections under creator's videos. The issue is that they are charging creators with the responsibility to moderate their comment section or they will face the punishment of a disabled comment section or video demonetization and they're slowly pushing the line of what's bounds are acceptable for creatives to be able to work within. We may be getting close to a point where they will just disable comments to protect their finances which would destroy interaction and discussion and would encourage an even more extreme form of censorship. What do you think about all of this? Will they continue to punish creators for user comments? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

It sounds more like it's meant for the creators of the videos comments. Plus it sounds like the fought was of some idiot who thought that blackmailing the media by doing tgis would solve some problem on there.

Alco the Beog, unfortunately it affects all comments and the creator is responsible for policing their comments. It's a way to make creators censor instead of Google

Who was killed? Usually when something this drastic happens, it's a reaction to someone being killed. It seems YouTube took it upon themselves to be offended by free speech. If I finish watching your videos, will it violate my boycott on YouTube? I'm censoring anyone who censors free speech.

I don't think anyone had to die for this. YT has been doing this kind of thing of their own accord for years

Lol I should hope not since I'm going against them. Unfortunately there are no solid embeddable video hosting applications other than YouTube.

So basicly YouTubers have to turn comments off or police them or face reprocussions for something they didn't do.

reiningfyre, That was my exact concern! They are getting creators to either take on YouTube's responsibility to police comments or have them suffer engagement and silence discussion entirely
