Anastasia Smur, there is a fun part in having an unclear futures of where the app is going. It could go any way. Say if 13th came out with a new plan and fill us with expectations, I don't think that would fall well. It may be better just to carry on in the way we are now. Just enjoying the app😃
Do you realise that you're spamming the card of a member of Sola Team.
Spamming is forbidden by Sola ToS.
You're going to be restricted, even banned maybe...
You can't say you weren't warned...
Since the founding the App need a financial support !
Cryptocurrency was the wrong decision as well as the Community despite it in the whole by misunderstanding the value of Crypto in global thinking. This kind of monetarisizing destroy the base of a Communication App "Plag " promised to be. Hope a new , conventional Investment solve this problem 😕
Imagine my shock. I left for four months, get back and ask if its any better and some people tell me its worse. Is there any reason there should be trading volume on SOL? Nobody want's your crapcoin till the platform it was made for is worth using.
Gahaha hahaha hahaahahaahha
All that talk about crypto. All those folks who invested. The way you all treated your original userbase versus the crypto bros that showed up trying to peddle their "Original Content!" garbage. The complete lack of hitting any of those development goals from the ICO (Wasn't users an investors supposes to be able to host their own Sola eventually?) And now that the app is littered with spam, the coin dying, are you going to name change again because you've ran this brand off a cliff?
You guys could have just stuck to the original model, sold advertising metrics or offered a paid app instead of that insane crypto rush and the app would probably be generating more income.
I'm sorry but I.. No. I mean WE fucking told you so.
Wait you were here longer than me....Just another guy, the space on one card used to be limited kind of like on twitter if I remember correctly. Then they introduced "folds" where you coukd swipe to the left. After that some people started being creative as hell. I wonder if some of my old cards with several folds still work.
For now we don’t have anything big and worth mentioning, but as always I will tell if we have any big news. Currently dealing with some ordinary stuff, some fixes, supporting, moderating and thinking over Sola direction to the bright future. So be tuned to news, I deliver news as soon as I have some.
Opie ♻️, that's actually very true, all I ever see her doing, when she does post, is chilling at home, watching movies, reading and playing video games... 13th has always tried to push this persona that he and his team are just so damn busy working long grueling hours on Plag/Sola they simply don't have time to post here and let the masses (sic) what's going on with the app with any consistency. Silence is always been a bad sign coming from the Sola team.
Good luck to Anastasia's job hunting! :)
Hello, Seeing Red! Spreading chaos and making wrong statements is too low for such an old and well-going Sola oldfag:) I’m ok and not looking for a new job. Being at home - yeah, I work from home mostly, and it never was a secret. Mostly I don’t answer repeated or just meaningless questions. If you insist on asking them anyway, you can always do it in private messages and then reflect on them for some time and maybe (even maybe!) realize, that the question is quite meaningless. And my personal statement: I’m getting a little tired of your efforts to wander around Sola and troll everyone, I had a lot of complaints because of your comments, but never implemented any measures because I sympathize to every Sola oldie. Writing stuff like this in my card is sh*tty, so next time I will delete comments like this and add you to the black list. Have nice weekends!
WyldBot [WildFyre], I’ve already answered this question and repeat again, that currently we are thinking over direction and solving everyday cases. If I had any concrete news worth mentioning I would share it as usual in here, Telegram, FB, etc as I always do.
Anastasia Smur, sure thing, I will be like a good little-censored lackey on all your cards from now on. No more asking questions in public about the status of Sola as the answers gonna always be the same. Thanks for your time. :)
Just another guy, his concerns about what is happening with the app is valid whether he is viewed as a troll or not. When people hand you millions of dollars they tend to have the right to ask you about how the thing they paid you for is doing.
Seeing Red, look at you, using the F word and all... How impressive and scary.
You shouldn't sound proud of getting an answer that was obvious. As long as there is no news to give, she's not going to give any. Wow. That sure needed to be answered.
Just another guy, you know what they say about assumptions right? The fact that he is still here tells you that he does, and his questions are valid whether you think he is a troll or not. Maybe if the devs actually paid attention to it and addressed the concerns rather than focusing on minor bug fixes it would not be as much of a problem to the point where people feel the need to act in such a way to even get the most minor of response from them.
Tyler Anderson, are you a software developer ? Being one, I can say that bugs will often take up a whole lot more time that you'd want to give them.
Plus she said she had already answered the question.
Just another guy, sure, I can respect that bugs take time. However people didn't give them millions of dollars to fix minor bugs. And sure, she said she had answered the question. However as SR pointed out, its been over a month. Think back to when they were trying to move things over to sola from plag and the devs were all hyped and giving updates on their ideas all the time, telling how great its all going to be. One ICO later and they stop, it gets quiet, SOL plummets in value from the start, it crashed right away. Finally we get this update that it is being delisted from openledger, but no "here are some ideas for what we plan to do" or "here is how we plan to try to fix it" or any sort of encouragement. Just "hey, you know that thing you gave us a bunch of money for? Yeah that's failing." And then no response to the many people concerned below until eventually we got one, which is basically just saying "nothings changed since last time you heard from us, now shut up or I will block you"
Tyler Anderson, everyone giving money to the devs should have been well aware of the risks involved. It's immature to complain about the failure because of having put money in it and expecting it to succeed, there was no guarantee whatsoever from the start. Don't want to be disappointed? Don't give money. It's that simple.
And revolutionary ideas to pick up the pieces don't just appear out of nowhere. They're looking for a good idea, and they can't come up with something by snapping their fingers and saying "hey! I know what to do next".
She only talked about blocking SR here, not everyone. He's always been one of the most toxic, passive aggressive people here, so blocking him would be quite understandable.
Just another guy, the answer of obvious nothingness probably is enough for a sheep like you. Lots of old school users have been asking the same question for a while now, not just me, I'm just really good at getting responses and we've finally got a cookie cutter nonanswer, which doesn't surprise anyone, you're right.
Now back in line...
Seeing Red ~ Baaaaa :)
Just another guy, "its immature to complain about the failure of the devs to take even a single step to protect the millions of dollars that was handed over to them" yeah no. This is not the first time the crypto was put into question. When I took my haitus here 4 months ago it was the same thing. Nobody had any faith in the crypto and were concerned about it. Sure, ideas don't come from nowhere. But within 4 months you should have the ability to start taking some steps to solving this. How much money exactly was given to them? You would think by this point they may have hired a think tank, or maybe some consultants that they would be introducing us to quell our unease. But no. They are sitting around in their swanky new office, or at home in *certain* cases with no ideas to help fix it escaping those walls. I would love to see some of their brainstorming, or have the long departed 13th coming back in to give us some ideas he came up with to try to fix it like he was when he was first trying to pitch the idea of sola. In this case, i would say being passive agressive is more nice than what should be happening.
Just another guy, why don't we ask Anastasia what ideas they have thought of? As she said, they are thinking over solas direction to the bright future. I would hope that working from home she is not so out of the loop that she doesn't have any examples of ideas that they have thought of. Or, if she is just a clueless PR person, maybe she can contact the wonderful 13th! Im sure Ilya has no problem hopping onto his creation to help out his userbase, right? Wherever that little guy scampered off to, im sure he is just a hop skip and a jump away. I would hate for the early claims that he was going to "take the money and run" to come true...
Tyler Anderson, Ok, "immature" was indeed a bad wording, what I wanted to say was: it's irresponsible to just throw them money and expect it to have a 100% success chance. This is what the complaining sounds a lot like. "I've given money !!! How could you possibly FAIL ??? My money is wasted now"
"being passive aggressive is more nice than what should be happening". So what, we should storm their office, take Ilya hostage and force the team to do whatever you think should be done ? And if they just wanted to take our money they probably would have shut down the entire app long ago, right after getting it...
Just another guy, nobody claimed that there should be 100% chance of success. The claim was instead that the devs have not shown any effort in trying to stop the failure. Very different claims there, sir. And no, I would not be pushing for violence against hobbits, but I would say that it may be worth some of the investors to look into fraud rules and such to see if there may not be charges to be pressed. Also that is a short sighted view you have there. If they shut down the app they wouldn't be able to collect the revenue from hookup apps and other sketchy companies
Just another guy, also I am sad that you did not react to my comment about them giving us any of their ideas. Of course, that may lead some to think that you dont beleive they have any ideas either and so you ignored it. Not me, however, as you know what they say about assumptions...
Tyler Anderson, when doing sketchy stuff like raising money and running away with it, you don't stick around for ad revenue. Nobody ever does this. If they wanted to do that, they would simply put out another app under another company name.
And what exactly do you want me to say about ideas ? Everything has been said: they don't know yet what they're going to do, and that's about it. What more are you expecting ? Do you think I'm part of the team and I secretly know what they're planning ? I'm in the dark just like everybody else. I'm the one who's not assuming anything, unlike you who seems to be assuming that they're sitting idle.
Just another guy, sure, not ad revenue alone. I'm sure 13th is in his hole working on some other new creation. App companies dont make money with one crappy app alone. And I never claimed anything of the sort. Not knowing what they are going to do yet doesn't mean they haven't done any brainstorming. I want one of the team to tell us about some of those brainstorming sessions. Some ideas they may have in mind or the process they are going through to find some stuff. Normally I would hope they aren't hurling turds at the wall to see what sticks, but even that might be better than the 0% effort we have seen from them so far. Again, same situation 4 months ago yet what has been done since then to fix their supposed currency? Better yet, from the implementation of sola? How long ago was that? To be frank, the situation seems to be that they have abandoned this app, doing little more than hiring some PR rep to try to keep too many questions from being asked, and she doesn't even go to their office. For all we know, she may be completely out of the loop, only giving us what we need to hear or enough to keep her paycheck coming
Tyler Anderson, how much money did you invest in Sola? You sound like a crying little kid who played lottery for the first time in his life and now wants to sue the company for not winning the jackpot.
heisenberg, have you ever invested before? With most investments you will find that those running it take one of two stances. They will either take it and run (for example GE had a few CEOs who did similar things and they have yet to recover) or they try to make it actually work. They may still fail, however they at least try. That is where the issue falls. Losing money is part of investing. Having the investment abandoned by those who are supposed to be running it is not.
Tyler Anderson, "app companies don't make money with one crappy app alone". For now, AFAIK they have concentrated their efforts on Plague/Sola since the end of 2014.
And it's a bit naive to want them to share their brainstorming : anything they share will be subject to debate, people will love and hate anything and everything. They're going to be praised and criticized whatever they show. It's going to be a waste of time for them.
And they are not doing 0% effort. You're just seeing no user-facing changes, that's all. Again, as a software dev I can absolutely relate to being busy with 0 user-facing changes to show off.
And this goes back to "they are abandoning Sola". This is like a dead meme by now, it has been said so many times for years.
heisenberg, General Electric? Yeah, they do in fact release what they are planning to do to fix what is going on with their company. Many press releases, investor meetings, shareholder voting on issues and changes. Most investment companies do have some sort of way to try to cover such issues. Even largely successful companies find the need to release updates, like apple did earlier this month when they sent a letter to their investors about how they were lowering their target numbers for various reasons.
Tyler Anderson, you compair general electric or Apple with Sola huh?! Okay, this discussion will heading nowhere... But why are you here then? You also didn't answer my questions about if you had invested any money in Sola. Why are you here? You also want to have a piece of that cake and you want it now? Or you are here to just begging for any crypto currency in your profile?!
heisenberg, why am I here? Because I was one of the ones saying it would fail from the start. I had predicted it and now it is happening. It is my "I told you so" moment. And the best part for me is the fact that it isn't even entirely out of the devs control. But no, I am not saying that sola is anywhere near the levels of GE or apple. I instead am saying that there is a reason why those companies do such things.
Tyler Anderson, okay... Enjoy this moment. 👌 There were a couple of people who see this coming and predicted the same. But there are just a few one who want to blame the devs for that now ... Maybe it's about the time to simply accept your own prediction and just keep on going...!? I mean you personally don't have done any mistakes in that case... Be happy and let it go.. They will come up with new ideas and we can discuss this ideas again when it's about the time. Even if it last one year since now... But all this bla bla here at the moment is just bla bla...
Tyler Anderson, so you're really here just to sh#t on anyone defending Sola. Huh. I guess some people do just want to watch the world burn. And I redirect my "immature" word towards you then.
I'll also state again that before Plague became Sola, tons of people said the same thing, that the silence from the devs meant they had abandoned it and that it was the end. And it wasn't the case. Wait until they officially anounce the app's retirement before being happy.
Just another guy, yes. Even if you keep paying for something, it can still count as abandoned. Sticking with the theme of investing, if you have a brokerage account and forget about it, you may be paying something for that account however the government will step in and claim that as abandoned property, taking your investments and money into their own property.
Just another guy, you dont necessarily have to forget about something for it to be claimed as abandoned. In this case it seems they hired some PR person to sit on their couch and say everything is fine while the rest go who knows where and tells everyone else fuck all
Tyler Anderson, that doesn't answer why they would waste money on the servers. I don't even know where their initial money came from in the first place, before the whole crypto thing. I highly doubt they had so much that they could waste it on hiring someone to "sit on their couch and say everything is fine".
Tyler Anderson, to be concrete, I addressed this one personally to Seeing Red as he was discussing my personal life like “I’m sitting home playing video games”. I find this offensive and don’t want to see things like this. As simple as that. He was not the only one asking questions, but he’s the only one doing it in a rough and personal manner. Don’t distort my position.
Anastasia Smur, I am sorry to say that I have very little to distort. I have yet to see any position outside of you saying "we are trying to think of ways" and telling SR to leave you alone. As I have said in the other comments, it would be refreshing to see what sorts of ideas may be floating around the drawing board. The issue is obviously a demand issue, not anybody wants the crypto. The only use it seems to have is to be converted to ETH. It is only awarded if *certain* people vote on your cards, and the dev team has very little contact regarding what they are working on. Maybe try working with some online shops to start accepting it? Maybe work on fixing the award system a bit? Maybe hearing a bit more about what is happening with it will help people want it a bit more? Being upset as SR for his jokes is not a huge issue to me. I find it more of a travesty that it took all of that to get any response on it.
Tyler Anderson, ok, people agree that there's a problem with Sola. That's true, people have always been prone to upvote any kind of rant against the app. That still doesn't mean the devs are abandoning it.
Just another guy, sorry that I have to say this, but your way of discussing is annoying.
"nobody agrees with you"
"the cards have a lot of votes. Looks like they actually do"
"but but but, that doesn't mean you're right"
No matter what the actual topic is, as soon as you are confronted with facts you switch the topic.
Tyler must be a real Zen master that he doesn't freak out on your arguing.
Just another guy,
"the devs abandoned their app (again!) and leave their investors and users in the dark about the present and the future of the app for months"
"aha, you are crying because you lost money and you want a little app to act like a huge company"
NO! NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING LIKE THAT, GODDAMMIT! PLEASE STOP THIS BULLSHIT FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
What are you trying to reach with this crap?
Anastasia, could you please give him his bloody cat anus so he stops annoying people. Thanks.
Just another guy, how much of their development plan that they outlined during the ico did they accomplish?
Did they accomplish the entire plan? Does it seem like they are dropping features and development in light of the failing coin?
Well, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck.... I dunno.
WyldBot [WildFyre], ya look at all these promises that are delivered on(sarcasm.)
Remember when this app had an active community with fun content? It's all spam and shitposts now. Who didn't see this coming?
Tyler Anderson, I keep seeing the same Pakistani lady posting "My face my bedroom" posts. "My face my kitchen."
Thats some mega shit posts.
Although fuck, she's showing her face. Maybe this is Pakistani porn, I don't know.
Tyler Anderson, I apologize for this. I'm telling people to stop being aggressive and that's all I'm doing.
I guess I'm way too attached to Plague, and start feeling personally attacked like an idiot when people complain about it and the devs.
It seems to me that you never ever asked users for ideas. Admitted there's a lot of complaining but that doesn't come out of the blue and from nowhere. I'm pretty sure you have some good ideas and a few good developers. What you are lacking from is to put enough resources in a good PR. The way it is done irritates for long. I mean the usual pattern is like that. Users have an idea , devs are like: ok. We could implement that. Some time later: they replace a feature the users loved with sth nobody ever asked for. Eg. The folds for example.
So why don't you brainstorm a little more and everytime there are a few interesting ideas collected you let the users vote for A, B or C.
You know for an app that is designed to give the users so much power it's interesting to see that you don't experiment with more power sharing/user participation/democracy.
Also "Sola: Social Media without stress!"
Shouldn't this tag line be rebranded for the folks who are obviously stressed having lost all their money investing in your silly ass crypto venture?
"Plag: Social network where ideas- Sola where your ideas earn crypto-wait no...-Sola the social network without stress- hang on.
I'VE GOT IT!
"Sola: The Frankenstein of Social Network, since we change this thing every year then never follow through with any builds. I mean, I think at one point we sold insurance or something. "
