Wattpad was great as a reader - it still is, mind you - but it took me becoming a writer to find the issues. It became awfully frustrating trying to get readers for your book. You see writers with (let’s be honest) shit grammar and storylines getting millions of views, and there I was, writing my chapters with good grammar and syntax, great planning, and making them 2,000 words long... and all that work got me barely 80 views.
The point is, Wattpad is great for reading or training your wroting, but if you want to be a more serious writer, be prepared for a 90% chance of deep disappointment.
The site is awfully saturated with bad books (trying not to be a dick, but I’m afraid they’re pretty bad) that comprise mostly of fan-fictions and werewolves / vampires. I wouldn’t mind them (I actually enjoy the odd werewolf novel) but the majority are just cringeworthy and so immature.
