Word of the day: Faith
1. Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
e.g. "This restores one's faith in politicians"
Synonyms: Trust, Belief, Confidence, Conviction.
2. Strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
e.g. "She gave her life for her faith"
Synonyms: Religion, Church, Sect, Denomination.
A compromise made between the head and the heart so that neither has to work as hard.
e.g. "I have faith that our President will see us through these difficult times."
Faith is perhaps one of the most common words in relation to trust, and yet, it's still one of the most important. To be able to put your belief and trust into an ideal without complete certainty it will actually manifest. And as far as putting your trust into something that you can't confirm is plausible or possible goes, humans are notorious for this. Religion, currency, and love are just some of the huge parts of our life that rely on faith to be fruitful, and yet have no promise of ever coming to be. But this is also one of our biggest strengths, as when we have faith in something and it manifests, we can find something even greater than what we believed in.
